Executive Vice President Media
Greg Fischer is an idea guy. And while he has media in his title, he never leads with reach, frequencies, impressions or engagements; he always leads with the insight that inspired his teams’ approach to inspire the audience to engage.
Yes, he’s the EVP of Media at Swirl the independent full-service agency that boasts of its independent spirit and is equally proud to have been founded at the “epicenter of the digital revolution” in San Francisco in 1997. (And Greg’s been part of Swirl twice, so the attraction’s serious.)
According to his client fan base (and they are FANS), Greg thinks creative before he thinks outcomes, but balances the two brilliantly. Perhaps that kind of equilibrium comes from his favorite quote—inspired by the world-wise writer of children’s books, Dr. Seuss: "Remember that life's a great balancing act. Just never forget to be dexterous and deft. And never mix up your right foot with your left."
Greg’s approach has never been to think about the media function as a stand-alone silo. He’s a natural collaborator across client, creative, media and analytics. He is keen on creating visibility across all engagement drivers: search, social, demand, paid, earned and has designed a global dashboard for full visibility that ensures a client can adjust tactics and spend accordingly for the best outcomes. He brings ingenuity to his client relationships, his other agency collaborators, and his media partners. And, the results always speak for themselves.
Having built brands across a diverse range of industries, Greg came to Swirl by way of Kirshenbaum Bond & Partners' San Francisco office, following a successful run at the Media Kitchen in SoHo New York, where he developed award-winning work for USA Network, as well as strategic media for Wyndham International, MSG Networks, NYC2012, and Mohegan Sun.
After a short hiatus, Greg came to Swirl for a second time by way of Venables, Bell & Partners, where he led communications strategy for HBO Video, Audi, Nestea, Barclays Global Investors and Siebel Foundation. When he's not digging through 45's for his restored Stereophonic Zenith Hi-Fi stereo, you can find Greg at home with his two incredibly cute daughters.
